Gabe has 1/8 Chickasaw/Choctaw heritage, born in Ada, Oklahoma at Chickasaw Nation Hospital. His Native American lineage begins with his 100% Chickasaw/Choctaw great grandmother, Mary Heck.
Father Played College Football
Gabe's father had an impressive athletic background, excelling as a High School All State player and later as a Junior College/D2 Football player, standing at an impressive 6'5". He participated in various sports during high school, including football, basketball, baseball, and track, garnering numerous all-state and all-area awards. Notably, he held high school records in power clean, shot put, and discus. During his time at Independence Community College, he was recognized as a NJCAA 1st team All American as a tight end, setting records for receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Further, he continued his success at Northeastern State Oklahoma University, earning D2 1st team all-conference honors as a tight end.
Mother is Native American
Mom Jennifer Gurley (Heck maiden) is Native American. 1/4 Chickasaw/Choctaw. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma which is the Chickasaw tribal area.
Mother was a HS Athlete
Mom excelled in sports at Stonewall High School, playing softball, basketball, and track. She was an all-state slow and fast pitch player, a standout pitcher and shortstop. Additionally, she was an all-region basketball player as a point guard and made the all-state Indian team in both sports. In addition mom was also Choctaw princess in 2006. Despite college sports offers, she chose to pursue nursing and is now an RN. Go, Mom!

Grand Father - Native American + High School Hall Of Fame
Grandfather Randy Heck, hailing from Coalgate, Oklahoma, was a prominent athlete. Half Chickasaw/Choctaw, he excelled in sports. He achieved all-state recognition as a running back in high school football and was later honored in the Coalgate High School football hall of fame. Additionally, he showcased his talent in baseball and track. His memory lives on, as he passed away a few years ago.
